Mud Monster

First thing in the morning we painted with trucks and cars
It is the perfect boy way to paint.

Here is the finished product.

Next I blew up the punching bag.

He played with the sensory box again.

A simple walk outside turned into and hour in the mud.

 He was the "Mud Monster".
Then we found some muddy water to play in.

The dog had as much fun as the boy.

Playing in the mud is tiring for boys...

and dogs.

I filled the sink with water and wash clothes so he could pretend to do laundry while I picked up.

As a special treat we made Jolly Rancher suckers. They are really easy to make just place two or three by each other (must be touching) on parchment paper and place in the oven for 5-7 minutes at 200 degrees. Take them out and quickly roll the sticks into them. Bo's dad told me that since I did this with him last summer he won't eat Jolly Ranchers any other way.

For the end of the day I made a masking tape race track.

Day 9, 10, and 11

Day 9 is the person who has gotten me through the most.

That is my mom. She is almost always there for when I need her or not. (Yes she is wearing a crown.)

Day 10 is someone I do the craziest things with.

That would be my brother. We always had something odd that we wanted to do. These ideas have caused me to get knocked out, stuck in a tree, and lots of spankings for the both of us.

Day 11 is something I hate.
Feet just gross me out. I want nothing to do with them, not even mine.

Kitchen Science

I made some play-do before Bo even woke up.
 I used this recipe.

 The play-do smelled delicious.

Next we headed outside and made some explosions.

I sprinkled baking soda on a cookie sheet and put food coloring and vinegar in a muffin tin. Bo used and eye dropper to make tiny explosions.

Then we did some Shrinky Dinks, which were a hit.

We played with the pond sensory box. I used the green foam lilly pads I made last year for this sensory box.

To end the day we went outside and drew with chalk.

Silly Willy

On Wednesday we started the morning by painting a placemat.
Sorry no after pictures, but this was near the end. When it was dry I covered it in contact paper.
Our paint brush was bubble wrap taped to a toilet paper tube.

After painting we had a silly string fight and a freezing cold dip in the pool.

After lunch, a nap, a swim lesson, and a popsicle we threw paper balls at a masking tape web I put up.
The balls didn't stick when thrown, I think tape balls would have worked better. He had fun anyway.

While I cleaned up and finished the placemat he played in the arctic sensory box I made earlier this week.

Day 7 and 8

I'm sorry I haven't posted, but in all fairness I started looking for a car, had a graduation celebration, and karate class on Thursday. On Friday I had graduation practice and looked for a car all day. Then today I looked at more cars, bought a car, babysat for six hours, had a graduation celebration, and had to find shoes for graduation at 9 o'clock tonight. The good news is that things will be slowing down so that I can be more faithful.

Anyways the day 7 picture is a picture that makes me laugh.
This is my dad after falling into Jolly Mill, which is spring fed. It was in May so it wasn't terribly warm and he went in up to his shoulders.

The day 8 picture is of my most treasured item.
It is my first degree brown belt. I worked my tail end off to earn it. I'm more proud of that than my accomplishments in school.

Day 5 and 6

I was really tired last night, which is why I didn't post. I took a nap from 7-10 then got up, showered and went to bed. Keeping up with a three year old is tiring work. I will post our Wednesday activities this weekend.

My day 5 photo is my favorite memory. I couldn't pick just one, but my favorite memories are of karate. I have been studying Shito-Ryu Genbu-Kai for 9 years. That is literally half my life, which probably explains why my favorite memories are tied to it.
This is a picture of me and my brother with Fumio Demura. He is the head Sensei of my style. He was the Mr. Miyagi stunt double in the original Karate Kid movies and choreographed many of the fights. He has trained Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, and Jackie Chan. This man is one of the honorable people I know.

This was just another karate pic that I liked because I nailed that kick.

My day 6 picture is who I would like to trade places with.
I love being me and wouldn't trade places with anybody. I love who I am especially quirky stuff like kissing a moose head, the weird noise that only I can make, my inability to get change from a drive thru, and even my clumsiness. It all makes me unique and I wouldn't trade lives with anyone...well come to think of it I might trade with Dumbledore given the chance.

Busy Busy Busy

Today's activity was making a nature jar.
We went walking around the yard and I told him that if it were on the ground and fit in his jar then he could keep it.

He had multiple rocks, dandelions, and a dime.

Next we (read I) made cookies. I spent 2 hours. He was done in 30 minutes. He did the sprinkles, some of the icing, picking out cookie cutters, and mixing. They were delicious and he was very proud.

After a swim lesson and a nap we played in some cloud dough.

It was left over from last year.

To make it use a cup of baby oil for every 8 cups of flour and kneed. (Veggie oil can be used if everything still goes in their mouth.)

It packs like sand, but is soft enough for a bed!

To finish up we made some maracas. We filled an easter egg half with dry beans then duct taped it between 2 spoons. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but I do have this video. He was singing, "Morgan is the best." That kind of thing is why I love babysitting.

He also requested that we "do Spanish".  I have taken four years of Spanish so that announcement got me excited. Next week I'm going to try and squeeze in some Spanish time everyday.
