He Played On Everything!

This week we had a zoo theme.
Here is the front of our lapbook.

The inside

Our Bible verse.

Our Spanish vocab this week was of course animals. I made a little book to go in the lapbook to help him practice them.

This was to help remember our Spanish numbers and count in English. Both the numbers and the cards are double sided.

These are the beginning letter sounds, which he is very good at.

And of course tracing.

I laminated this maze and taped it to the back side of the book for something extra.

The box was simple this week. The base was birdseed. I added a zoo Toob and popsicle sticks for fences.

He loved grouping them by different characteristics and building cages.

On Monday he drew a picture with wet chalk.

We spent all afternoon outside swimming and doing our boxes.

Sis had a mud box. I used the dirt from the garden box last week in hers this week.

We made some delicious s'mores bars on Tuesday. To make them put a layer of graham crackers down in the pan. Cover that with chocolate chip cookie dough and bake at 350 for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and put in broken up chocolate bars and cover with mini marshmallows. Bake until the marshmallows are brown.

Sissy really got into the mud on Tuesday.

Bo was back to building a zoo.

Sis decided to dump hers into the pool,

sit in the box,

and taste the dirt. Eeeeewwww!

After we did the boxes Bo went swimming. This is his dive.

Wednesday Bo did his box while I packed things up and Amelia napped.
After lunch we headed to the park. We played at the first jungle gym and swings then moved on to the rocks.

Bo found lots of little rocks he "needed" to take home.

There is water running through the rocks and he played in that for almost an hour after changing into his suit.

After two more jungle gyms he finally decided to go to the splash pad (he was the leader and decided where we went to play).

Amelia would run to the water, then run back to me, and back to the water, and back to me. She was very funny about it.

This is a free splash pad that was put in after the tornado. You put your hand on a black circle on the concrete and the water comes on. Bo basically ran between that and the frog.

We had lots of fun and ended up spending about three hours at the park. Bo absolutely loved being the leader. He also told me that he liked going on trips and that we should go there again. After Amelia's swim lesson the kids went home and fell asleep. I think it took Bo all of three minutes once he got done telling me that he wasn't tired.
