BAM Camp- Olympics

This is the next to last week of BAM Camp. :(
It was olympics week. Bo's box was rice, laminated olympians, gold medals from the Dollar Tree, and pipe cleaner olympic rings.

Amelia had shaving cream.

Monday I made a balance board. I used 2 inch PVC pipe and a board I found in the basement. I covered the board in duct tape. I cut pool noodles to fit the ends so the landing didn't hurt people or floors.

Tuesday we went to the park and worked out on the exercise equipment.

The leg machines were very popular.

We did boxes again too.

Wednesday we just hung out, but Thursday morning started off with our bags.

Then our boxes.

Finally we made some gold medals. We made salt dough then used cookie cutters to make the medals. I baked them and left them out over the weekend. Monday morning we painted them gold.

BAM Camp-Ninjas

Ninja week was a hit (sorry I couldn't resist).

Bo had ninja filled slime.

I found the recipe on the internet.

Amelia had dirt and scoops.

Monday we painted. Amelia did sponge painting.

Bo made a ninja turtle shell. It's a turkey pan from the dollar store with ribbon and elastic.

It was also VBS week. Bo was my little helper.

Tuesday we did our boxes again.

He also played with his bag. He had army men and America won the war hence the fist pump.

Again we went to VBS. I was the director so we were there a lot.

Wednesday was crazy hat night.

This sombrero was the best 50 cents I ever spent.

Thursday we made ninja starts. I found the tutorial online.

We had balloons as targets.

Here's our video.

BAM Camp- Firefighter

This was my last week of physics! Next week is VBS. Then just 2 more weeks until BAM Camp is over and school begins. This week is firefighter week.

Bo's box had blue rice for the base. I used boxes wrapped in duct tape to make the buildings. I found the firefighter stuff at Hobby Lobby.

It got the stamp of approval.

Amelia's was just blue water, ice, cups, and a funnel.

It was also approved.

We made fire blocks for Bo's box on Monday. The blocks came from Hobby Lobby. I used foam sheets and my Cricut to make the flames.

Tuesday we made banana ice cream. The children cut the bananas into slices. We froze them. After lunch we put them in the blender until they were smooth.

Then we headed outside to do boxes.

Wednesday all we did was boxes because I had a long day at school.

Thursday I had no class. The kids did their bags.

We used forks to paint fires.

And to finish up we did boxes.

BAM Camp- Ocean

Week before last, we had Ocean week. It rained almost everyday, so last Monday (the only day I had them last week) we did the outdoor activities we couldn't do during ocean week.

We made Hawaiian leis on Monday.

I used my Cricut to make the flowers. I cut up straw into about 1 inch pieces. The kids each got string and made a pattern. Flower, straw, flower, straw.

Bo's box had water, sea shells, blue water beads, boats, and a Coral Reef Toob.

Amelia's had water, blue half marbles, ocean animals and a mermaid.

Tuesday we played again, but it rained so we couldn't do our water blob.

Wednesday we did them again and it was our tent day.

We watched Shark Tale.

Thursday we once again had rain.

They did their bags.

After that they did their boxes.

Monday we went geocaching. Bo got a bracelet and Amelia got an airplane.

Then we came home and did the water blob.

I ironed the edges of a plastic drop cloth together leaving a hole for the hose. Use parchment paper between the iron and the plastic.

Here's our video.
